EKISTICS Architecture Inc. is looking for passionate and talented team players to join our diverse team. This is a full time position working in a fast-paced studio environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This person is a key participant in assisting EKISTICS in a variety of project types including low-density wood frame residential design, resort design, planning and urban design projects. This person brings a strong design and technical ability in wood frame construction and has the ability to develop drawings in CAD and SketchUP and assemble detailed construction drawings. Experience with mass timber construction is useful. This person will have the opportunity to participate in, and support, large-scale planning and urban design projects in CAD and 3D modelling.
ABOUT YOU

- Qualified + Driven: You hold a diploma or degree in Architectural Technology.
- Skilled + Experienced: You have 3+ years experience and a strong design sensibility. Experience with AutoCAD, 3D modelling programs such as SketchUP and Adobe Creative Suite. Some freehand drawing ability is useful. You have a demonstrated ability to develop designs at a variety of scales through to detailed design.
- Good Communicator: You have good written, graphic and verbal communication skills; and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Energetic, confident, and comfortable discussing design concepts with principals, clients and other consultants.
- Team Player: You thrive on team-work in a multi-disciplinary environment and value our clients, their vision, and goals. You are adaptable to shifting project demands and have a strong sense of professionalism and pride in work, both individual and team-generated.

ABOUT YOU
The Architectural Technologist position is best suited to an individual with the following attributes:

- Qualified: completion of a building technology program from a professionally recognized institution.
- Experienced: 5+ years local BC experience with design abilities and knowledge of wood frame construction and detailing. Experience producing and coordinating construction documents with consultants and knowledge of BCBC, VBBL and Municipal Zoning Bylaws. Must be registered with the AIBC, or eligible to be registered in the province of British Columbia.
- Skilled: Advanced ability using AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUp and Adobe CC – hand sketching ability is beneficial.
- Detailed & Organized: Thinks critically about the details of the task at hand, has extremely organized work habits and excellent time management skills.
- Good communicator: Has excellent oral and written communication skills in English and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Energetic, confident, and comfortable making presentations to clients and consultants.
- Team player: Values our clients, their vision, and goals. Adaptable to shifting project demands. Strong sense of professionalism and pride in work, both individual and team-generated. Model our company culture and exemplify our shared values on a day-to-day basis.
