Royal Bay Community

Following an international competition, EKISTICS was commissioned to re-envision Royal Bay, a 470 acre former gravel quarry situated on the water 30 minutes west of Victoria. As prime consultant, EKISTICS led the Client and Community to develop a new seaside community of 2300 homes, composed of a series of neighbourhoods each within a 5-minute walk of the Village Commons. Centrally positioned within the community, the mixed-use Village incorporates 200,000 ft² of shops and services integrated into the region’s transit system. Linking the Village with the destination beachfront, the Plan weaves a network of parks, trails and restored natural landscapes, establishing the 1.5km shoreline as a public amenity. The resulting Master Plan creates an enduring legacy for Royal Bay, one that embodies the best of West Coast living.
